My Son Loves Coastlands Preschool!

It was hard at first with drop offs, like it is for many, but his kaiako were so patient with him and helped him to feel safe and secure. They worked very closely with him to help him settle and boy has it paid off! He absolutely loves them and they him! He plays all day and has the best time.

Everyone is lovely to deal with and they work closely with me to ensure anything I’m working on with him, they mirror there too.

I couldn’t be happier with his progress and confidence since starting.

Encouraging All Aspects Of Their Development

As a parent of three children, all of whom have attended Coastlands Preschool over the past six years I would happily recommend the centre.

Coastlands has a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for children to play and learn. The team work hard to maintain an amazing child to teacher ratio and appear committed to caring for each child while encouraging all aspects of their development. I have been especially impressed that each of my children has been recognised for their own individual strengths and interests. One of my children was bursting with pride when she walked in to see a wall dedicated to her art work, all of which had been framed. The teachers have created an environment where children are nurtured and their individuality celebrated and enjoyed. This is conjunction with a strong focus on compassion and inclusivity through relationships. I have seen my children grow in confidence and maturity during their time at Coastlands Preschool. Thank you for all you do.

Felt at Ease

All teachers are involved with the kids and I felt at ease leaving Eva in their care. She has been to five preschools previously due to us moving around and this is the only preschool I felt completely comfortable leaving her there. Iit was the first preschool she didn’t cry at any drop offs so it shows how comfortable the teachers and staff made her feel

Amazing Teachers

The amazing teachers, seriously! You can have the fanciest centre ever but it’s nothing without teachers who are loving and kind, but also firm and fair, teachers who are happy are so important, because it reflects how they are treated by management and so forth.

Keep doing as you are, keep raising awareness for children with special needs, and encourage all children to care.

Best in Town

Teachers are amazing,. The facilities, structure, the learning aspect is outstanding. Always loads of support from everyone. We are going to be very sad to be leaving but they have given the best start for our 2 boys that we could have ever asked for. Caring and Professional

The staff are caring and professional at all times. They respect each child as an individual and encourage them to grow, explore and learn in ways that the child can direct and that are interesting. Our daughter's creativity exploded when she started at Coastlands and the teachers have really encouraged and embraced her interests. Every parent wants their child to be cherished and respected and I think the staff do this in a way that still maintains professional standards.
The staff are willing and try to use te reo Māori and Māori learnings in the preschool. They are helping to build future citizens of Aotearoa and our whanau thank them for their commitment and hard work.

Caring and Beautiful Manner

The teachers have such a caring and beautiful manner with the kids, they get to know them so well and work so hard to find their interests to make preschool a really special growing experience. The teachers are so understanding to family situations and support the kids and the family as a whole. The teachers use the beautiful space and surroundings in so many imaginary ways and every day the kids have created so many special things. I am highly impressed in every aspect of this preschool. Cared for Holistically

Grace was cared for holistically as a whole little person, rather than just physically looked after. Her needs at drop off for example were catered for happily, every day, even after a year. I felt the teacher’s genuine pride in her growth and successes. Thank you, teachers.

Truly Child Led

I was immediately taken back by the gentle and truly child led ethos of all of the staff.

Genuinely considering how my child may feel, asking him if it’s okay to do something like take his nappy off, cuddling him to sleep because that’s what he needs, sitting for a cuddle when he’s a a bit sad after waking up- these are things we do at home as parents and I’ve never found a daycare that aligns with this even though lots claim to!


And the physical space the children have to play in is beautifully thought out- spacious and calm with just enough toys to keep them busy without being overwhelmed, free flowing between in and outdoors and again, considering what each individual child may want to explore.


Communication from staff is great too.


I’m so impressed with the centre and so happy it’s local to us, the care is certainly top notch!!
